Donation bins are set up in the main lobby of the ACSO and in the Civil lobby at 7200 Barrister Drive and at the Benjamin drivers licensing location. They are collecting canned or boxed non-perishable food items and new or gently-used clothing, coats, gloves and hats. All of the items donated stay right here in the Treasure Valley and go directly to our neighbors, friends and family members in need. The Boise Rescue Mission has been serving the Treasure Valley since 1958. Each year, the mission invites families from Ada and Canyon County to enjoy a hot holiday meal prepared and served by volunteers. The families are given warm clothes and the children are given a toy or gift. The Mission also provides families with boxes of food and a turkey so that they can prepare their own hot, healthy holiday meal at home with their families. ACSO employees are also donating money that will be used to buy turkeys and other food items for the food boxes.Food, clothes and money will be collected through December 17. All donations are tax-deductible.In 2008, the generosity of ACSO employees and members of the community helped the ACSEA collect more than 800 pounds of food and dozens of turkeys. Last year, the ACSEA donated more than 1,000 pounds of food proof that, together, we can make a tremendous difference!.Thought-leader Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney talks about the state of law enforcement and how local policing will change in the future.
