Since becoming your Sheriff, I have had the privilege of meeting many of you in person at one of the many public meetings we hold each year. Whether in face-to-face meetings or on our monthly television program, 'The Sheriff's Report' I try to keep you informed about issues of community safety. I believe that members of the Sheriff's Department have a tremendous responsibility to you in the community. And I believe that you have a tremendous responsibility as well. It is the responsibility of citizenship: the responsibility to be informed and involved in public life and civic culture. I believe that your safety is a particularly vital issue. I urge you to get informed about this issue and involved in what your Sheriff's Department can do and is doing about it. You see, I believe that public safety is not a spectator sport. It is important that we are all informed and involved. The purpose of this website is to provide information and provide you with a window on who we are, what we are about and how you can engage with us to build a safer community for you and your family.
