Property assessments and assessment reviews are free services offered by the Assessor's Office and property owners do not need to pay for a service to file a request. This office has reviewed the market value of single family homes and condominiums for the January 1, 2010 lien date. This will affect taxes that will become due December 2010 and April 2011. Owners of property with resulting reduced assessments will receive a letter by late July notifying them of the results. Owners who disagree with the results or those who did not receive a notice may call our office at 209-468-2630, make contact through our website at. A Notice of Changed Assessment will be mailed out the end of July 2010.ALERT!.The San Joaquin County Assessor's Office is warning area taxpayers to beware of recent mailings offering homeowners property tax relief. Several companies are offering to file with the Assessor's Office a form to request a review of a property assessment for a fee.
